Mark Cuban: Early Life

You’ve seen him in Shark Tank — now let’s talk about the early childhood that got him there.

Mark Cuban grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

His father was an upholsterer and his mother had many career aspirations with “a different job or goal every other week” 💼

In order to pay for some awesome shoes, he started his first business at 12 by selling garbage bags

He later earned money by selling stamps and coins 🪙

At 16, he took advantage of a news delivery strike and personally ran newspapers throughout Pennsylvania to make money 🗞

After one year at his city university, Cuban transferred to the Kelley School of Business from Indiana University because it was the least expensive of all of the top 10 business schools! 🤑

Shortly after college, Cuban worked as a salesperson and got fired for attempting to start a new business with a client! 😈

And finally, Cuban started his own company, MicroSolutions and sold it for $6 million! 🤯 This was just the first sign of success to his many ventures later on, most notably Broadcast.com which was sold to Yahoo
