Ever thought about the stock market as a game of tug-of-war? 💪
Well, professional investors do and the game is between a bull 🐂 and a bear 🐻
Bullish = when investors are optimistic 💸
So, that’s believing a stock or the whole market is going to make lots of money 📈
Bull Market = when overall stock prices are rising 🏦
Bull Run = specific successful period (when the stock graph is going up!) 🤑
So, when the 2021 stock market made record-high annual profits, investors were “bullish” or believed in the “bull market”! 🐂
You could also describe 2021 as a great “bull run” since it was a specific period of growth 🚀
On the other hand there is:
Bearish = when investors are pessimistic 😥
That’s the belief that a stock or the market is going down 📉
You can say “bear market” for overall sad market or a “bear run” for a short period of low prices 😥
If you see these terms in the news, now you know what they mean!
Bulls = positive, money-making market 🤑
Bears = negative, low prices or down trending market 😥
