The stock market actually opens and closes 😮

US markets are open on a schedule, just like other businesses! 💼

That’s the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Nasdaq 🛍️

Both are regularly open from 9:30am EST to 4:00pm EST on weekdays ☀️

That’s 6:30am PST to 1:00pm PST 🌊

In addition, markets are open for extended hours trading from:

4:00am EST to 9:30am EST (pre-market)

and 4pm EST to 8pm EST (after-hours)

During extended hours, you can still place trades, but because there are less other people trading, orders may take longer to fill ⌛

Wanted to buy a stock, but didn't make it before the market closed? 😥

In other countries, stock market hours are different & based on their own time zones 🌍

For example, the London Stock Exchange is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM GMT 💂‍♂️
